Our RYA Yachtmaster Preparation Course is for those seeking professional employment within the maritime industry. Whether it be as a commercial skipper or instructor, the RYA Yachtmaster Preparation Course is tailored to assist you in passing the 8 – 12hr exam. When applying discuss with us what it is you are looking to achieve, you maybe short of those all important 60 mile passages, night hours or even just basic close quarter handling. As there is not a specific time limit you can achieve your objectives in a day or even 5 days depending on what you are short on.

Some of our students like to join an RYA COASTAL SKIPPER PRACTICAL COURSE as this helps them work as team, build on their leadership skills and learn the all importance of running a vessel. Our instructors have many years within the commercial sector, so you can rest assured that you will be getting the highest quality of tuition.  Seatrek Marine Services is the only school in Scotland that specialises in power and motor boating.

This course will give you all the knowledge you need to safely handle a motor boat on the water by day or night for up to 15m. The practical course builds on your navigation, boat handling, passage planning and many other topics.

We have one of the most beautiful areas of Scotland for you to train in. The Clyde is well known for its commercial shipping environment and is the gateway to the west coast. Its tidal waters will give you an excellent grounding in your learning experience.

On booking your training we will arrange for the commercial exam there will be an additional cost which is paid to the examiner at the time of your exam. The exam fee changes on an annual basis and we will confirm this at the time.
