RYA Small Craft First Aid course is a one day course covering the usual First Aid but from a boating perspective. It is aimed at anyone who goes afloat, whether on inland waters, rivers, estuaries or on cross channel passages

This course provides an introduction to First Aid and lifesaving skills for all those who spend time on the water. The course will provide you with sufficient knowledge to take immediate life saving action as well as how to deal with less serious injuries and the certificate is valid for 3 years from date of issue.

It is suitable to be used for anyone who wish to take the RYA / MCA Coastal Skipper or RYA / MCA Yachtmaster Off shore examination.

The course can also counts as one module of the RYA / ISAF Offshore Safety certificate.

After successful completion of the course you will have a working knowledge of first aid for people using small craft and to be able to support skippers of yachts and motor vessels.

Seatrek General Course Information

Courses taken on the water are carried out on board our 6.5 meter RIB and our 45′ Nelson. The RIB is suitable for all levels of students and has a 130hp Honda. Our Nelson has two twin Sabre’s

Shorebased courses are held either in our classroom or in hotel facilities depending on the numbers attending the course.

Times 09.00 – 17.00 hrs with  a break for lunch and morning &  afternoon refreshments.

Waterproof clothing is available should students not have their own. Life jackets are supplied on all courses, however, if students wish to bring their own then they are more than welcome.  They will be checked by your instructor prior to going out.

There are shower and toilet facilities on site with disabled access as well. It is recommended you bring with you a warm set of dry clothes to change into, in case of inclement weather. Sun cream hat and gloves are also a must, windburn and sunburn can be sore if preventive measures are not taken.
