Our RYA Powerboat Level 2 course is for anyone who has limited or no powerboating experience. This course will give you all the knowledge you need to safely handle a powerboat both on and off the water. The RYA powerboat level 2 course introduces you to basic navigation, boat handling, anchoring, securing to a buoy and many other topics. The RYA powerboat level 2 course is run over a two-day period for up to 3 students.

We have one of the most beautiful areas of Scotland for you to train in. The Clyde is well known for its commercial shipping environment and is the gateway to the west coast. Its tidal waters will give you an excellent grounding in your learning experience.

Seatrek Marine Services is the only school in Scotland that specialises in power and motor boating. Our instructors are very experienced and have an excellent knowledge of power craft. Whether you wish to do your training on the school boat or your own vessel you can rest assured you will be getting taught by the experts. Taking your RYA Powerboat Level 2 course with us will make sure you get a solid start to your powerboating skill and knowledge.

If you have at least one season of solid boating experience, you can apply to do the RYA Powerboat level 2 assessment. The assessment takes 2-hours and can be done either on your own boat or the school boat. No teaching is performed during this period as you should already have the skills and knowledge to pass the assessment. The holder of the RYA Powerboat level 2 powerboat certificate can apply for the ICC (International Certificate of Competence)

Endorsements: 12 – 15 years – should only use powered craft under the supervision of a responsible adult.
No prior qualification required. The qualification attained on this course will be the RYA Powerboat Level 2.

Seatrek General Course Information

Courses taken on the water are carried out on board our 6.5 meter RIB and our 45′ Nelson. The RIB is suitable for all levels of students and has a 130hp Honda. Our Nelson has two twin Sabre’s

Shorebased courses are held either in our classroom or in hotel facilities depending on the numbers attending the course.

Times 09.00 – 17.00 hrs with  a break for lunch and morning &  afternoon refreshments.

Waterproof clothing is available should students not have their own. Life jackets are supplied on all courses, however, if students wish to bring their own then they are more than welcome.  They will be checked by your instructor prior to going out.

There are shower and toilet facilities on site with disabled access as well. It is recommended you bring with you a warm set of dry clothes to change into, in case of inclement weather. Sun cream hat and gloves are also a must, windburn and sunburn can be sore if preventive measures are not taken.
