Our RYA Powerboat Level 1 Course is for those who have no experience and / or who would like a practical introduction to powerboating.
For youngsters our RYA Powerboat Level 1 Course is a fun way for them to experience something new and they can start from early on as 8 years old.
Our RYA Powerboat level 1 course consists of lessons in preparing the boat for sea, close quarter handling and controlling the boat at speed,  to name a few, it is a great opportunity or them to get out on the water safely.

MINIMUM AGE
8 years old
Endorsements
8 – 11 years – they should only use powered craft under the supervision of a responsible adult on board the craft
12 – 15 years – they should only use powered craft under the supervision of a responsible adult.
PRIOR QUALIFICATION
No prior qualification required. The qualification attained will be the RYA Powerboat Level 1.
PRIOR EXPERIENCE
There is no experience necessary prior to joining this course.

Seatrek General Course Information


Courses taken on the water are carried out on board our 6.5 meter RIB and our 45′ Nelson. The RIB is suitable for all levels of students and has a 130hp Honda. Our Nelson has two twin Sabre’s

Shorebased courses are held either in our classroom or in hotel facilities depending on the numbers attending the course.

Times 09.00 – 17.00 hrs with  a break for lunch and morning &  afternoon refreshments.

Waterproof clothing is available should students not have their own. Life jackets are supplied on all courses, however, if students wish to bring their own then they are more than welcome.  They will be checked by your instructor prior to going out.

There are shower and toilet facilities on site with disabled access as well. It is recommended you bring with you a warm set of dry clothes to change into, in case of inclement weather. Sun cream hat and gloves are also a must, windburn and sunburn can be sore if preventive measures are not taken.
