The RYA International Certificate of Competence Assessment ICC) is a requirement if you wish to take your boat abroad and is needed to hire leisure boats in sunnier climates.
On completion of the RYA International Certificate of Competence assessment you will be able to provide evidence of competence when requested by officials in foreign countries. It will require to re validated within 5 years.

The Clyde is well known for its commercial shipping environment and is the gateway to the west coast. Its tidal waters will give you an excellent grounding in your learning experience. If you haven’t got the necessary experience or feel that you are lacking then we are able to hone up your skills over a day prior to sitting the assessment.
Our RYA International Certificate of Competence Assessment focuses solely on power and motor boating. Seatrek Marine Services is the only school in Scotland that specialises in power and motor boating. Our instructors are very experienced and have an excellent knowledge of power craft. Whether you wish to do your assessment on the school boat or your own vessel you can rest assured you will be supported by the experts.
The holders of the RYA Powerboat Level 2 and the RYA Day Skipper Practical certificate can apply for the ICC (International Certificate of Competence) These are the minimum qualifications or knowledge you are required to know

There are no set dates for the RYA International Certificate of Competence Course (ICC) and assessment.
We tailor each of our RYA International Certificate of Competence Course (ICC) and assessments to a date and time to suit you.

Seatrek General Course Information
Courses taken on the water are carried out on board our 6.5 meter RIB and our 45′ Nelson. The RIB is suitable for all levels of students and has a 130hp Honda. Our Nelson has two twin Sabre’s
Shorebased courses are held either in our classroom or in hotel facilities depending on the numbers attending the course.
Times 09.00 – 17.00 hrs with a break for lunch and morning & afternoon refreshments.
Waterproof clothing is available should students not have their own. Life jackets are supplied on all courses, however, if students wish to bring their own then they are more than welcome. They will be checked by your instructor prior to going out.
There are shower and toilet facilities on site with disabled access as well. It is recommended you bring with you a warm set of dry clothes to change into, in case of inclement weather. Sun cream hat and gloves are also a must, windburn and sunburn can be sore if preventive measures are not taken.
