The MCA Proficiency in Personal Survival and Water Safety Course is under the updated MCA Boatmaster Licence qualification published in early 2015 it is one of two courses that support the MCA Boatmaster licence qualification laid out in MGN 1853 (M)

The MCA Proficiency in Personal Survival and Water Safety Course is run over 6 hours and for up to 12 students covering many of the aspects of safety on the water eg man over board, life saving equipment and evacuation to name a few. It is specific to the MCA Boatmaster  licence qualification.

The MCA Proficiency in Personal Survival and Water Safety Course are run throughout the year at clients own locations or at the tail end of a MCA Boatmaster licence qualification.

Seatrek General Course Information


Courses taken on the water are carried out on board our 6.5 meter RIB and our 45′ Nelson. The RIB is suitable for all levels of students and has a 130hp Honda. Our Nelson has two twin Sabre’s

Shorebased courses are held either in our classroom or in hotel facilities depending on the numbers attending the course.

Times 09.00 – 17.00 hrs with  a break for lunch and morning &  afternoon refreshments.

Waterproof clothing is available should students not have their own. Life jackets are supplied on all courses, however, if students wish to bring their own then they are more than welcome.  They will be checked by your instructor prior to going out.

There are shower and toilet facilities on site with disabled access as well. It is recommended you bring with you a warm set of dry clothes to change into, in case of inclement weather. Sun cream hat and gloves are also a must, windburn and sunburn can be sore if preventive measures are not taken.
