The MCA Fire Safety Awareness Course is under the updated MCA Boatmaster Licence qualification published in early 2015 it is one of two courses that support the MCA Boatmaster licence qualification laid out in MGN 1853 (M)
The MCA Fire Safety Awareness Course is run over 6 hours and for up to 10 students covering many of the aspects of fire safety afloat and understanding the procedures governing the fire safety and the knowledge on how to deal with any incident afloat. It is specific to the MCA Boatmaster licence qualification.
The theory and practical sessions discuss the usage of the relevant fire equipment and the fires to which they relate to. With a detailed structure for those crews having to deal with the possibility of a fire and evacuation at sea on in inland waters.
The MCA Fire Safety Awareness Course are run throughout the year at clients own locations or in conjunction with the MCA Proficiency in personal survival and water safety course and the MCA Boatmaster licence qualification.

Seatrek General Course Information
Courses taken on the water are carried out on board our 6.5 meter RIB and our 45′ Nelson. The RIB is suitable for all levels of students and has a 130hp Honda. Our Nelson has two twin Sabre’s
Shorebased courses are held either in our classroom or in hotel facilities depending on the numbers attending the course.
Times 09.00 – 17.00 hrs with a break for lunch and morning & afternoon refreshments.
Waterproof clothing is available should students not have their own. Life jackets are supplied on all courses, however, if students wish to bring their own then they are more than welcome. They will be checked by your instructor prior to going out.
There are shower and toilet facilities on site with disabled access as well. It is recommended you bring with you a warm set of dry clothes to change into, in case of inclement weather. Sun cream hat and gloves are also a must, windburn and sunburn can be sore if preventive measures are not taken.
