All candidates are examined both orally and practically by a MCA surveyor/examiner. The practical exam is recommended to be taken on board a similar vessel of operation. If you wish us to book your oral exam please contact Lesley at the office and she will take the necessary details down for you. There is normally between 4 – 6 weeks wait for the MCA Examiners
Our instructor who delivers these holds the MCA Boatmaster Licence T1L2 with passenger endorsement for up to 250 passengers. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience and you will be in the right hands to attain your qualification. We have a 100% pass mark for which we are extremely proud of.

We will carry out some practical training during the 6 days. This will take place on board our Nelson 45′; However, unless you are operating this type of vessel, we advise that you have experience on the type of work boats, that you are going to be operating on daily.

Seatrek General Course Information
Courses taken on the water are carried out on board our 6.5 meter RIB and our 45′ Nelson. The RIB is suitable for all levels of students and has a 130hp Honda. Our Nelson has two twin Sabre’s
Shorebased courses are held either in our classroom or in hotel facilities depending on the numbers attending the course.
Times 09.00 – 17.00 hrs with a break for lunch and morning & afternoon refreshments.
Waterproof clothing is available should students not have their own. Life jackets are supplied on all courses, however, if students wish to bring their own then they are more than welcome. They will be checked by your instructor prior to going out.
There are shower and toilet facilities on site with disabled access as well. It is recommended you bring with you a warm set of dry clothes to change into, in case of inclement weather. Sun cream hat and gloves are also a must, windburn and sunburn can be sore if preventive measures are not taken.
